Final Examination:
Tuesday, April 24, 2010

If you have been wondering what elements of the course outline will be included on the final test, here you will find a good checklist to get ready for the exam.

1. Adjective formation
2. Noun Creation
3. Identification of synonyms
4. Identification of antonyms
5. The short stories from the book, including plot analysis, characterization, etc:
a. The Hero by Stephen Crane
b. Land by Leo Tolstoy
c. Mrs. Penn’s Story by Mary Wilkins Freeman

In addition to all these elements studied in class, the final exam will also include a new story to evaluate your understanding of the literary terms studied in class.

The story that will be included on the final exam is:

by Sarah Orne Jewett

Although you do not have to read the story before the text because you will be given a copy of the short story in class, it is a good idea that you read it and do some of the story analysis on your own.

Some extra information about the story can be found over here.
